Schedule: Part-Time Summer Program (Monday–Thursday, up to 20 hours per week)
Department: Rotational Program – Manufacturing & Quality
Program Overview
IDC’s Student Program provides hands-on experience for students interested in manufacturing, engineering, quality, and skilled trades. Students will rotate through multiple departments to gain exposure to real-world manufacturing operations, teamwork, and industry processes within a fast-paced defense manufacturing environment.
This program is designed to help students build workplace skills, learn manufacturing fundamentals, and explore future career opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist team members with daily production and operational tasks
- Learn and follow IDC safety and quality standards
- Rotate through departments including:
- Quality
- Assembly
- Machining
- Turning
- Finishing/Deburring
- One Degree Room
- Secondary Operations
- Support inspections, documentation, organization, and general shop activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow instructions from supervisors, trainers, and mentors
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and willingness to learn
- Participate in team meetings and training opportunities
Qualifications
- High school student, technical college student, or recent graduate
- Interest in manufacturing, engineering, quality, or skilled trades preferred
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer and communication skills preferred
- Must be 16 or older
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
