**Must have Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate** Job Description Job Title: Staff RN Pay Grade: 11 Reports to: Supervisor/Assistant Manager/Manager Department/Job Code: 1550/1557 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt OSHA Exposure Level: Job Summary The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance to the established FMC policies, procedures and guidelines. Job Qualifications Education: Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the our client Ohio. CPR required. Experience: Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred. Essential Job Functions Job Expectations and Responsibilities: 4. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process. Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway. Provides education for the patient and family/significant other from admission through discharge process. Provides thorough, concise, accurate and legible documentation of the nursing process/pathway. Notifies physician of pertinent observations and changes in the status of the patient. Administers medications and performs treatments in an accurate safe manner. Implements physician orders as written. Assures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care, reporting malfunctions to proper department. Physical Capacity Demand Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work. Position may require frequent patient handling activity. Job Considerations Psychological/Mental - Position requires ability to regulate emotions and exercise self-control in the workplace. Must be able to manage urgent situations calmly. Ability to communicate empathically with patients and demonstrate genuine care and concern for their welfare. Display confidence with being assertive in interpersonal situations. Ability to prioritize work tasks when multiple issues need attention. Keen observation and accurate reporting skills. Strong organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills needed.
