Job Title: Database Administrator 3 (DB2)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Onsite & Telework)
Duration: 06/01/2026 – 08/31/2026 (with possible extension)
Client: State of Texas - Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
Role Summary:
The selected candidate will administer, maintain, and optimize DB2 database environments. This includes managing database performance, ensuring system reliability, and supporting enterprise-level operations across AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms. The role also involves scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support enterprise-level DB2 databases
- Manage DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage
- Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Support and maintain AIX/UNIX/Linux environments
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and system tasks
- Ensure database security, integrity, and availability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide production support
- Participate in off-hours support as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience with DB2 Database Administration
- 8 years of experience with DB2 Licensing / Passport Advantage
- 2 years of experience working on AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms
- 2 years of experience in Shell scripting/programming
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with DB2 on AIX
Salary : $80 - $100
