Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy and speed.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
• Conduct product demonstrations and upselling to promote featured items and increase store sales.
• Maintain clean and organized shelves through merchandising, stocking, and inventory management to ensure products are attractive and accessible.
• Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and managing receipts.
• Monitor store security by adhering to phone etiquette protocols and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with inventory counts, stock replenishment, and product ordering to keep shelves fully stocked.
• Engage customers through friendly communication skills and bilingual support when needed to serve diverse communities effectively.
• Perform routine store maintenance tasks such as cleaning, organizing displays, and ensuring the store environment is inviting.
• Support team members by supervising or assisting during busy periods and participating in product demos or promotional events.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store operations is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
• Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for those interested in growth opportunities.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and inventory management.
• Bilingual skills are highly valued to better serve diverse customer bases.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations including merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous.
