Return Support (Temp)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Back charge & Return/Claims Specialist to manage builder account claims, Return Authorizations (RA), and dispute resolutions. In this role, you will analyze issues, determine liability, process backcharges, and reverse invalid claims to protect company revenue and maintain strong vendor/builder relationships. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain experience in reverse logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

Builder Open RA Management & End-to-End Return Follow-Up

• End-to-End Process Management: Monitor, track, and analyze all open Return Authorizations (Open RAs) originating specifically within the builder orders.
• RA Close-Out Execution: Take full ownership of the entire return pipeline—from initial RA intake and root-cause analysis through to final RA CLOSE—ensuring meticulous and proactive follow-up at every stage.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate closely with the Return Team to streamline builder-specific logistics and return workflows, preventing any system bottlenecks.

Builder Backcharge Claims Management & Dispute Resolution (Reversal Requests)

• Root-Cause & Liability Analysis: Review, audit, and verify the validity of all incoming backcharge claims submitted by builders; clearly isolate and attribute liability (e.g., distinguishing inbound delay, installation errors, or builder-side site issues).
• Claims Processing & Financial Recovery: Execute formal claims against the responsible parties based on the established fault attribution to secure financial recovery, credit generation, or dispute closure.
• Dispute Defense & Reversal Requests: Identify discrepancies or unsubstantiated charges, file aggressive formal disputes, and proactively track and follow up on incorrectly assigned claims until a formal REVERSE (credit/claim reversal) is successfully granted.
• Ad-Hoc Claims Support: Perform other related duties regarding builder return and backcharge claims as assigned by management or dictated by operational needs.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred

• Internship, coursework, or experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or customer service.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience working with shipping documents or inventory records.

Compensation: $26 / hour
