Job Title: Senior Payroll Manager

A large, high-volume organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to lead U.S. and Canadian payroll operations within a Shared Services environment. This role oversees a team of 24 and manages complex, multi-entity payroll in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for salaried, hourly, tipped, seasonal, and union employees across the U.S. and Canada
• Lead, develop, and manage a payroll team of 24 (4 managers, 20 specialists)
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Canadian payroll regulations
• Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance
• Partner with HR, Accounting, Benefits, and external payroll vendors
• Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes and service levels
• Manage payroll corrections, reporting, audits, and special projects
• Maintain strict confidentiality and data security standards

Requirements

• 7 years in a high-volume payroll environment (10,000 employees)
• 3 years in a Payroll Manager leadership role
• Active CPP certification required
• Multi-state payroll required, including California
• Canadian payroll experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a publicly traded company
• Strong background in performance management and team leadership
• Comfortable operating in fast-changing, high-pressure environments
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
