What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Accountant / Accountant II position at INSPYR Solutions?
We’re partnering with a Houston-based industrial company to hire (2) direct-hire Accountants to support different business units. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning their work and likes to understand how the business operates. The team is in the middle of an SAP S/4HANA implementation, so you’ll be exposed to new system changes, evolving processes, and opportunities to make things more streamlined - not just maintaining the status quo. Compensation: $75K–$90K base (flexible, based on experience)
Location: Galleria area – onsite 5 days/week
What you’ll be doing:
- Support monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Perform income statement variance analysis and explain the “why”
- Handle bank recs, intercompany activity, and general ledger clean-up
- Track fixed assets, leases (ASC 842), and related schedules
- Assist with audits and ad-hoc reporting
- Help improve and streamline accounting processes, especially during ERP changes
What they’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- ~3–5 years of industry or public accounting experience
- ERP experience required; SAP (HANA a big plus)
- Strong Excel skills
- Exposure to variance analysis, leases, and standard JEs
- Curious, accountable, and comfortable working onsite
