At Inspired Living, our Director of Plant Operations makes sure our community is safe, comfortable, well-maintained, and ready for residents, families, and team members every day.
Our Inspired Living at Ocoee community is looking for a hands-on leader and problem solver who can keep the big picture in focus while still knowing when it's time to grab a toolbox and get to work.
What You'll Do
- Lead all maintenance, housekeeping, and plant operations for the community.
- Build and manage a proactive preventative maintenance program for HVAC, fire systems, emergency call systems, generators, kitchen equipment, irrigation, sprinklers, and more.
- Conduct routine property inspections and prioritize work orders based on resident needs, safety, and operational priorities.
- Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring required licenses, insurance, and documentation are current.
- Oversee compliance with building codes, OSHA, EPA, SDS, fire regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, evaluate, schedule, and develop Maintenance and Housekeeping team members.
- Manage department labor and staffing within the community's budget.
- Oversee apartment turnovers and ensure residences are clean, repaired, safe, and move-in ready.
- Keep the interior and exterior of the community looking its best, including landscaping, walkways, trash removal, common areas, and mechanical spaces.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, equipment, and required engineering records.
- Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.
- Develop and reinforce safety policies and procedures across the department.
- Respond to property emergencies and assist with community emergency situations as needed.
- Build a strong, accountable team that takes pride in the community and treats residents with respect.

What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Leadership experience with the ability to hire, coach, develop, and evaluate team members.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and company policies.
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Comfortable with hands-on work, including painting, vacuuming, climbing ladders, accessing attics, and performing physical maintenance tasks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Organized, dependable, resourceful, and comfortable balancing daily priorities with long-term projects.
