Inspired Memory Care continues to expand its private services division in response to growing demand from families seeking meaningful, individualized engagement for loved ones living with cognitive change. We are looking for a warm, creative, and skilled professional to join our team as a Per Diem Memory Care Specialist.
This role is ideal for a therapeutic recreation specialist or licensed creative arts therapist who is passionate about relationship-centered dementia care and eager to bring joy, purpose, and connection to individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
About the RoleThe Memory Care Specialist will deliver our signature One to One Connection Sessions — personalized engagement experiences designed to uplift, stimulate, and honor each individual’s strengths. Sessions may involve creative expression, conversation, music, art exploration, multisensory activities, or other personally meaningful approaches. The role also includes travel throughout the boroughs of New York City.
Responsibilities• Facilitate individualized One to One Connection Sessions for clients living with dementia, focusing on strengths, joy, and meaningful engagement
• Build rapport with clients, families, and care teams to support continuity and positive outcomes
• Document sessions with clarity, compassion, and an emphasis on each client’s abilities and successes
• Travel to clients’ homes or senior living communities throughout New York City
Preferred Qualifications• At least two years of experience supporting older adults and individuals living with dementia
• Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or a related allied health field
• Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and comfort working independently
• Interest in strengths-based, person-centered dementia care
• We are also open to considering interns in Therapeutic Recreation, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or related fields.
