What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Inspire CP?
Position Overview:
Inspire is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to help ensure that all buildings and grounds across our Orange County locations are clean, safe, efficient, and visually appealing. This is a full-time position requiring travel to multiple sites. While the typical schedule follows standard daytime hours, flexibility for second shift and on-call coverage may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
*Perform general and preventative maintenance on buildings, including painting, and minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
*Maintain property accessibility and safety, including upkeep of playgrounds, walkways, and snow removal.
*Keep agency vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working condition through regular inspections, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
*Support agency operations by:
- Transporting materials and interoffice/postal mail
- Loading, unloading, and storing deliveries
- Setting up spaces for special building use or events
- Relocating or replacing equipment
*Conduct security checks and respond to alarms (burglar and fire).
*Provide custodial support, including cleaning and floor maintenance, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid New York State Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- Prior maintenance experience preferred, but we are willing to train an exceptional candidate
Compensation:
- $18.76 per hour
