Job Summary

The Paraprofessional supports teachers and staff in providing instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance to students in a classroom setting. Working under the direction of a certificated teacher or administrator, the paraprofessional helps implement lesson plans, reinforce learning concepts, and assist in managing classroom behavior to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students—often including those with special needs or behavioral challenges—to provide individualized or small-group support. The paraprofessional may assist with academic tasks, monitor student progress, support the implementation of IEP goals, and help facilitate positive student interactions. Additionally, the paraprofessional supports daily classroom operations, including supervision during transitions, breaks, and activities, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
