To thrive as the Systems/Network Engineer, you should have:
- Enterprise network engineering expertise with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, and storage administration in Windows environments
- Cloud networking proficiency across Microsoft Azure (VNets, NSGs, Private Link, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall) and AWS (VPCs, route tables, VPNs, Direct Connect, Security Groups)
- Solid security and firewall experience with Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco Meraki, cloud-native firewalls, and SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel
- Hands-on automation and scripting skills using PowerShell, Terraform, and Bash, with support for scalable, multi-tenant network architectures
- Working knowledge of identity and access management, including SAML, OAuth, ADFS, and compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171/53, FedRAMP, and ISO 27001
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, engineering, or infrastructure support
- Required certifications (or ability to obtain): High priority with experience in Azure (defender)
- AZ-700: Designing and Implementing Microsoft Azure Networking Solutions
- AZ-104: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Network
Preferred Qualifications:
- AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer
- SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
- Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA, or similar vendor certifications
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent
Your responsibilities as the Systems/Network Engineer will include:
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize enterprise and cloud network performance using tools such as Azure Monitor, Microsoft Network Watcher, AWS CloudTrail, and related observability platforms
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot secure connectivity solutions, including VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, Azure ExpressRoute, and AWS Direct Connect, across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Centralize security monitoring by integrating Azure, AWS, on-premises, and GCC High boundary devices into a unified SIEM solution such as Microsoft Sentinel with standardized logging and identity practices
- Support Zero Trust architecture and federated systems by maintaining trust relationships, shared network standards, and secure identity integrations across multiple environments
- Partner with cybersecurity and business stakeholders to support incident response, change management, compliance requirements, infrastructure planning, and escalated end-user or migration support as needed
