Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, and assist with audit preparations.
- Utilize tools like Excel for data analysis, report generation, and supporting decision-making through detailed financial data review.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining meticulous records of financial transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting workflows and improve system efficiencies using platforms like Workday, ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with strong understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP.
- Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience working with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro and time management tools such as Kronos is advantageous.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation processes.
- Excellent communication skills paired with customer service orientation to support internal stakeholders effectively.
