Registered Nurse (RN)- ICU/PCU

Location: Utica, NY 13502
Shift: 6:30a-7p (Block Scheduling is never promised or guaranteed)
13 weeks contract
36 hours/week
2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU and documents travel experience.
Travel experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, adhering strictly to protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised care plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment procedures, post-discharge care, and health management strategies.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
• Adhere to infection control policies and ensure the ICU environment remains safe and sterile.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with advancements in critical care nursing.

Qualifications

• Valid registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Proven experience working within an ICU or critical care environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology relevant to critical care.
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards patients and their families.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-stakes environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous learning in critical care nursing practice.
