Short Summary:
The intensive Care Unit RN role assumes the responsibility for providing care and support to patients in the hospital’s ICU, which require additional care than most patients. The core duties include monitoring vital signs, providing emergency response care, and managing a patient’s life support system maintenance.
The role comes with 7.00 am to 7.30 pm or 7.00 pm to 7.30 am rotating shifts.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model and achieving the organization’s nursing vision and strategy.
- Utilizes aspects of the nursing process such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to coordinate outcome-focused patient care.
- Understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory.
- Communicates effectively with the patient, patient’s family, physicians, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assess and document healthcare process stakeholder learning needs.
- Actively participates in the creation and operationalization of quality improvements to promote clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and care outcomes.
- Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.
- Assumes an active role in the development and achievement of department goals.
- Undertake other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Qualifications:
- BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
- Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
- An active RN license is required
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association
- ICU work experience is an added advantage
