Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the optometric practice by assisting with patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for Saturday availability (half-day from 9am-1pm). This is a great opportunity for students interested in the Optometry/Optical field.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary tests with automated equipment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions.
- Provide patients with education at doctor's discretion on eye care, contact lenses, and eyewear options.
- Utilize electronic health record system for efficient patient management including checking patients in and out.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and clinic efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness of the office.
Experience
- Must be fluent in Spanish.
- Previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in payment transactions effectively.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset are necessary for success in this role.
