We are seeking a dedicated and personable Optometric Technician/Optometric Assistant to join our dynamic eye care team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical histories and insurance details.
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary testing, including visual fields, autorefractor, fundus photography, corneal topography.
- Assist with optical procedures, including frame fitting, frame selection, lens selection, and adjustments while providing excellent customer service in retail sales of eyewear products.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Officmate ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, processing payments, and performing retail math to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes related to ophthalmic services to facilitate accurate reimbursement.
- Assist new contact lens wearers with insertion and removal training, teaching them proper disinfection and care of the lenses.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly preferred but will train; strong optical experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Officemate or similar platforms a plus but not required, will train; ability to navigate electronic health records efficiently.
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly demeanor and strong communication abilities.
- Understanding of medical billing and coding processes related to eye care services a plus but will train.
- Experience in retail sales or front desk operations with proficiency in retail math is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and clinic documentation.

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
