Sr. ESS Field Engineer
Location: Greater Milwaukee/Kenosha, WI
Hours: 6-2pm, Mon – Fri, some variability (could be 7am or 8am start time)
On call: Every other week Monday – Monday (you can submit hours as soon as you receive a customer call)
Interview Process: 1 round virtual
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
OT: 1.5x

Must Haves:
-Industry-recognized certifications in access control or video management systems (e.g., Lenel, Milestone, CCure 9000, DMP, Honeywell, etc.) If no certification, you must have strong experience.
-3 years of experience as an Engineer supporting enterprise‑level security systems, including card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion detection systems in accordance with manufacturer standards and engineered drawings as well as:
-Hands-on experience with enterprise‑level networking and IP‑based ESS architectures, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networked security devices.
-Basic computer proficiency, including experience with software and tools common within the Electronic Security Systems industry.
-Experience installing security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV and intrusion systems)
Job Description:
Our client, a large nationwide AV integrator, is looking to hire a Sr. ESS Field Service Engineer to their team. This person will be responsible for providing onsite troubleshooting, diagnostic support, and hands‑on resolution for a wide range of Electronic Security Systems (ESS). This role supports both field service engineers and technicians by addressing complex technical issues, ensuring operational continuity, and contributing to the success of managed service efforts. Some travel is included but the majority of the work is in the greater Milwaukee area
- Ability to serve as the primary technical escalation point for all ESS‑related issues, providing expert‑level diagnostics, fault isolation, root‑cause analysis, and resolution of medium- to high‑complexity problems.
- Repair, service, and operational health of ESS equipment, including planning and implementing system improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
- Develop, execute, and track daily and weekly preventive maintenance schedules, including reporting to ensure optimized system readiness and functionality across customized spaces.
- Identify, failed, or degraded equipment and take full ownership through resolution, including documentation, communication, and follow‑through.
- Perform safe, precise fault diagnosis, including removal, repair, testing, implementation, and verification of ESS components, devices, and systems.
- Experience collaborating with client teams to schedule meetings and prepare meeting spaces, ensuring required technology accommodations for trainers and end‑users are fully functional.
Salary : $45 - $65
