Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close process, own the Accounts Payable function end-to-end, and manage payroll auditing. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and strong internal controls across a fast-paced, multi-brand publicly traded company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results
- Own the entire Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs, reconciliations, and 1099 filing
- Perform payroll auditing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper GL coding across pay cycles
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations related to AP and payroll
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, HR, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes
- Reconcile intercompany billing to other brands
- Administer the corporate credit card program (Divvy)
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Support internal audits, external audits, and SOX-related requests for AP and payroll
- Maintain documentation of AP and payroll procedures and ensure adherence to company policies
- Other ad hoc financial analysis as requested by the Accounting Senior Manager and a.k.a. Brands leadership
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Payable and/or month-end close
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience with NetSuite, Stampli, and Rippling strongly preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or a multi-entity/multi-brand environment
- Prior experience owning a function end-to-end in a growing company
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
