Sap Financial Accounting Consultant

Project Overview

This role will support a 1‑year SAP FI roadmap as part of a large‑scale financial system implementation using standardized SAP templates. The focus is on partnering with finance stakeholders, aligning business processes to SAP FI, and supporting financial operations throughout the implementation lifecycle. This is a functional, business‑facing role with no hands‑on development or configuration responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the SAP FI functional lead supporting finance users across a multi‑phase implementation roadmap.
• Perform gap analysis between current-state financial processes and the target SAP FI template; recommend and document required process adaptations.
• Serve as a General Ledger subject matter expert, with functional exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and tax-related processes.
• Partner closely with finance leadership and the broader finance community to gather requirements, answer questions, and resolve functional issues.
• Support month‑end close activities and ongoing financial operations within SAP FI.
• Collaborate closely with IT vendors and implementation partners to clarify requirements, review solutions, and expedite issue resolution.
• Deep dive into SAP FI to analyze issues and support troubleshooting, while development and configuration work is handled by a system integrator.
• Serve as a liaison between finance and IT, ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of SAP FI experience, with strong expertise in General Ledger.
• Proven experience delivering multiple end‑to‑end SAP FI implementations.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting business processes, including month‑end close.
• Functional experience with SAP FI modules including:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Fixed Assets
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with finance stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SAP FI issues without performing configuration or development work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (current environment is ECC 6.0).
• Strong experience supporting GL and tax-related processes.
• Prior experience working within a template-driven SAP implementation environment.

Pay: $70-75/hr.
