Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Proposal Development Specialist to support the pre-award team at a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare and research organization by facilitating the preparation and submission of sponsored research proposals. This individual will work closely with Principal Investigators, faculty, and research administration teams to ensure proposal compliance, develop budgets, coordinate timelines, and manage pre-award activities through Notice of Award.
Plusses:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification
- MBA, MPA, or other related graduate degree
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitate the preparation and submission of sponsored research proposals, including complex and multi-institutional grants
- Initiate pre-application meetings with Principal Investigators to review funding opportunities and establish proposal timelines
- Serve as a liaison between Proposal Development, Grants & Contracts Pre-Award teams, and Principal Investigators
- Manage all pre-award activities for assigned proposals utilizing grant management rules, regulations, and best practices
- Review Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs), RFAs, and RFPs to identify sponsor requirements and communicate key deadlines
- Develop detailed proposal budgets and budget justifications while ensuring accuracy and compliance with sponsor requirements
- Verify appropriate application of indirect costs (F&A) and fringe rates
- Coordinate proposal elements and review submissions for consistency, completeness, formatting, page limits, and sponsor compliance
- Collaborate with external institutions to obtain required sub-award documentation
- Enter proposals into Grants system and sponsor submission portals accurately and timely
- Facilitate proposal routing and approval processes while obtaining required institutional sign-offs
- Monitor proposal status and communicate deadlines, deliverables, and requirements to investigators
- Support Just-In-Time (JIT) requests and sponsor follow-up activities through Notice of Award
- Verify compliance training and required certifications for faculty members
- Ensure smooth transition of awarded proposals to post-award teams through detailed documentation and communication
- Mentor junior Proposal Development team members and provide guidance on proposal processes and best practices
Salary Range: $65-95k (Potential flex - based on education, certifications, experience)
