We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer / Production Planner to support manufacturing operations through effective production scheduling, inventory management, and material planning. This role will be heavily focused on manual production planning using Excel, ensuring the timely availability of materials and resources needed to meet customer demand and production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, balancing production requirements, inventory levels, and supplier performance while maintaining accurate planning data and reporting.
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using Excel and internal systems.
- Create and manage production schedules based on manufacturing capacity, material availability, and customer requirements.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to support on-time shipment objectives.
- Coordinate daily with manufacturing supervisors and operations personnel regarding production priorities and schedule adherence.
- Track work orders through the production process and identify potential bottlenecks that could impact delivery performance.
- Maintain production planning spreadsheets and reporting tools to provide visibility into production status and resource utilization.
- Balance production workloads across available manufacturing resources.
- Support daily production meetings by providing schedule updates and production status reports.
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Monitor inventory levels and material availability to support production schedules.
- Track shortages, lead times, and incoming materials to minimize production disruptions.
- Review open purchase orders, work orders, and inventory transactions to ensure planning accuracy.
- Generate inventory and production tracking reports using Excel.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material shortages and delivery issues affecting production schedules.
- Maintain accurate planning and inventory-related data within company systems.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize Excel extensively for:
- Production scheduling
- Capacity tracking
- Work order management
- Inventory reporting
- Shortage tracking
- Production status reporting
- KPI tracking
- Collect, analyze, and report production and inventory data to support operational decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and production performance.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
