Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new seal products and technologies as part of the organization's R&D and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives
- Perform advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate seal performance, material behavior, and structural integrity under various operating conditions
- Execute engineering calculations to support product design validation, failure analysis, and design optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams, including application engineering and testing counterparts, to ensure seamless product development lifecycle execution
- Conduct and support laboratory testing activities to validate new seal designs and document results against performance specifications
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including design reports, test plans, specifications, and technical analyses
- Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges related to seal performance in oil and gas applications, applying sound mechanical engineering principles
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the seal technology group by evaluating emerging materials, manufacturing methods, and design approaches
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required (advanced business degrees such as MBA do not satisfy this requirement)
- 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in a product development or mechanical engineering capacity
- 3 years of current or recent hands-on experience with seal technology (seals must be an active part of current or most recent role — historical experience alone is not sufficient)
- 3 years of proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software applied to mechanical components or assemblies
- Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis, material science, and fluid mechanics
- 2 years of demonstrated ability to perform independent engineering calculations for design validation and performance analysis
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday (4 days per week) at the client's Houston-area facility near Atascasita
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
