Rate: $105,000-$135,000/yr

About the Opportunity
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the owner's design team supporting the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of a next-generation TRISO fuel manufacturing facility. This is a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale industrial facility from the ground up, helping translate process and operational requirements into practical, maintainable, and constructible mechanical systems.
The position will be based primarily in Albuquerque during the initial design phase and offers the chance to collaborate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams throughout the life of the project.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the design, construction, commissioning, and startup of a major industrial manufacturing facility
- Develop and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, datasheets, and procurement packages
- Provide design inputs and technical documentation to engineering contractors
- Review contractor and vendor designs to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate mechanical system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams
- Support equipment selection, procurement, testing, installation, startup, and turnover activities
- Develop facility-level solutions involving HVAC, chilled water, piping, utilities, process equipment, and supporting infrastructure
- Lead smaller engineering projects and provide technical guidance throughout project execution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial environments such as chemical processing, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, energy, nuclear, or similar facilities
- Experience designing industrial process equipment and piping systems
- Experience developing equipment specifications, piping specifications, mechanical calculations, and procurement documentation
- Experience reviewing fabrication drawings and vendor documentation
- Experience supporting construction, installation, commissioning, and startup activities
- Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment, utility systems, and industrial process equipment
- Familiarity with ASME codes, pressure vessel concepts, piping standards, and industrial mechanical systems
- Experience with engineering design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Plant3D, Revit, or similar platforms
