About the Company
Our team is looking for a Power Distribution Designer to join the team! This is a fully remote role but candidates MUST live between Jackson, MS and South Memphis. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing team within a great company!
About the Role
The role will be fully remote doing 80% power distribution design and up to 20% local fielding. The only overnight travel may be at the beginning for training. Candidates must be self-motivated and have own reliable car to use for fielding.
Responsibilities
- This position focuses on fielding and then creating power distribution designs (small wire changeouts, pole changeouts, etc) for a large energy client.
- Training on the software will be provided.
Qualifications
- Completed HS diploma
- 2 years of experience in the utility industry, ideally within power distribution design
- Knowledge of compatible units for the utility
- Prior experience with design/work management software including, DDS, PoleForman, Maximo, GDT, etc
Required Skills
- Ability to learn new design software if applicable
- Reliable car, will have up to 20% field time (can be reimbursed mileage)
- Great communication skills and professionalism
- Be located in target areas
- Able to work 80% remotely and up to 20% at field sites
Preferred Skills
- Engineering or technical degrees
- Any experience within utility/power industry
- Prior experience within power distribution design
