Position Overview:
A client of Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Analyst to join our investment team. This role offers the opportunity to support and advance strategies across systematic equity, tax-aware investing, Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) and OCIO model portfolios. The Portfolio Analyst will contribute to portfolio construction, trade execution, research, performance reporting, and operational oversight. The role will also support the development of capital market assumptions, asset allocation, and rebalancing procedures. This is a hands-on position working directly with senior portfolio managers, providing strong exposure to both the operational and investment sides of the business. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow into broader responsibilities in portfolio allocation and strategy management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, monitoring and oversight of systematic equity, multi asset portfolios, SMAs, OCIO model portfolios and ETFs.
- Assist with trade support, allocations, and portfolio reporting, performance attribution, risk monitoring, and factor/macro research.
- Contribute to the development of capital market assumptions and strategic/tactical asset allocations.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, and technology teams to ensure smooth
- portfolio execution.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for investment committee meetings, client presentations, and board reporting.
- Help maintain investment models, databases, and quantitative tools used in portfolio construction.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Over time, assume greater responsibilities in allocation decisions and portfolio management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or related field; advanced degree or CFA progress (Level II/III candidate) preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in asset management, sell-side research, RIA hedge fund, or institutional investment setting, experience in investment operations or portfolio support.
- Understanding of systematic equity strategies, factor research, asset allocation, and portfolio optimization preferred.
- Familiarity with portfolio management processes, trading workflows, and investment operations.
- Proficiency in Python; Power Bi, additional technical skills (Excel, SQL, Factset, Bloomberg) are a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets; alternative data experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrated interest in progressing toward a portfolio management role.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
