Process Engineer (Logistics)
Client: Adam Kaufman
Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, occasional travel to Frederick, MD and Coppell, TX)
Pay Rate: $35-50/hr
Start: ASAP
Interview Process: 2 virtual interviews, followed by onsite interview

Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field
- Process Engineering experience within logistics, warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environments
- Hands-on experience documenting processes, SOPs, work instructions, and process maps
- Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement experience
- 5S
- Kaizen
- Root Cause Analysis
- Standard Work
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent)
- Experience with SAP, ERP, WMS, or logistics systems
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience supporting high-growth, ramp-up, or rapidly changing operational environments
- Comfortable gathering requirements directly from operations teams and implementing process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing Visio for process mapping
- Tableau exposure (ability to leverage dashboards and reporting tools)
- Warehouse, inventory management, shipping/receiving, or transportation process improvement experience
- Experience creating KPI tracking and operational performance metrics
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Analyze and document current-state logistics and warehouse processes
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process maps, and controlled documentation
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and standardization opportunities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies
- Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Engineering, and Production teams
- Develop and track operational KPIs including inventory accuracy, cycle times, productivity, and fulfillment metrics
- Support corrective actions and process standardization efforts
- Train end users on new or updated procedures
- Drive process improvements that improve efficiency, quality, accuracy, and consistency across operations
Ideal Candidate Profile
Looking for a process-minded engineer who can hit the ground running within a logistics or warehouse environment. The ideal candidate has strong Lean/Six Sigma experience, has worked with SAP or other ERP/WMS systems, enjoys documenting and improving operational processes, and can effectively communicate with stakeholders across multiple departments. Someone coming from manufacturing, distribution, fulfillment, supply chain, or warehouse operations would be highly attractive.
