Linux Engineer

Job Description:

• Perform operational tasks such as server provisioning, upgrades, patching, changes, and testing.
• Participate in IT system implementations from requirements gathering through implementation and support transition.
• Document newly implemented or existing systems in Linux and processes according to quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Install and configure
• Automate Infrastructure tasks in Ansible
• Build virtual machines in Azure or AWS
• Identify and address technical or operational risks and inefficiencies with IT systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation and utilize change management processes for operational best practices and systems maintenance.
• Collaborate with project managers in the development of detailed project plans.
• Develop and execute a support transition plan for system implementations.
• Provide assistance for issues escalated from downstream support teams.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of experience focusing mainly on delivery processes in Linux, with operations, building virtual machines, and designing and implementing solutions
• Virtualization and networking experience in VMware, Nutanix, or similar platforms
• Scripting and automation experience in Ansible
• Experience with deployment in hyperscalers such as Azure and AWS
• Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and documentation processes

• Scripting experience in Git
