Position: IT Business Operations Manager
Salary: $125,000 - $140,000
Location: 2041 Georgia Ave NW, Washington, DC 20060
Schedule:
- Core hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Onsite 5x / week
Overview: Insight Global is seeking an IT Business Operations Manager to support hospital IT operations.
Strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant IT business operations within a hospital environment. Owns financial planning, procurement, vendor management, asset & inventory control, staffing coordination, policy development, and operational workflows supporting clinical and administrative technology. Partners closely with IT leadership, clinical operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Compliance, and vendors to deliver reliable, secure IT services that enable patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee day‑to‑day IT business operations, ensuring alignment with hospital priorities and service levels
- Manage IT budgets (OpEx/CapEx), forecasting, spend tracking, and financial controls in partnership with Finance
- Lead procurement, vendor management, contracts, SLAs, and RFP coordination
- Maintain IT operational metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting
- Own IT asset, inventory, and lifecycle management, partnering with Biomedical Engineering as needed
- Maintain IT governance, policies, compliance, and audit support (HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS)
- Support strategic IT initiatives (EHR upgrades, digital transformation, infrastructure modernization)
- Act as a central liaison across IT, clinical stakeholders, leadership, and external partners
- Identify operational gaps, risks, and inefficiencies; drive continuous improvement
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related)
- 5 years in business operations, preferably in healthcare or IT
- Strong understanding of hospital operations and IT service delivery
- Demonstrated experience with budgets, vendors, procurement, and operations
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MSIS, or related)
- Experience in hospital IT or clinical technology environments
- Familiarity with Epic/Cerner, ServiceNow/Ivanti, asset management tools
- Knowledge of HIPAA, cybersecurity, healthcare regulations
- Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP certification
Ideal Background:
- Strong operations manager, not a career project manager
- Experience working closely with CIO / IT leadership
- Comfortable translating operational data into exec‑level insights
- Highly organized, process‑driven, and detail‑oriented
$125,000 to $140,000 per year annual salary.
