- Lead the design, development, and execution of qualification plans for optical transceivers and pluggable optics.
- Build and maintain advanced optical transmission testbeds to characterize components, optimize system performance, and validate signal integrity, thermal behavior, and power efficiency through simulations and modeling.
- Identify automation opportunities to streamline production testing and validation processes.
- Perform comprehensive reliability and performance testing, including environmental stress tests, signal integrity analysis (e.g., TDECQ, COM, VEC), and evaluation of key metrics such as BER, OSNR, and Q-factor.
- Configure and debug host-side switches (e.g., Cisco, Ciena, Fujitsu) and verify host-module interoperability, link training, and lane tuning.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and configuration management, contribute to engineering guides, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet delivery schedules and maintain standards of excellence.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of optical networking experience.
- Testing experience with high-speed transceivers such as QSFPs and OSFPs.
- Hands-on experience with optical test equipment for troubleshooting and validation, including OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), OSA (Optical Spectrum Analyzer), BERT (Bit Error Rate Tester), and optical power meters.
- Hands on experience working with host systems hardware such as Cisco, Ciena, or Fujitsu switches and routers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Jira experience.
- Hands on automation scripting experience.
Compensation: $45-$50/hour
