JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a GIS Analyst to support enterprise GIS operations for one of our large energy companies. The role will involve analyzing and visualizing spatial data that drives business, engineering, and operational decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid GIS experience who can work independently while also collaborating cross-functionally to deliver accurate, high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze spatial and attribute data to support planning, operations, and decision-making
- Create maps, reports, and visualizations for internal stakeholders
- Support ongoing GIS initiatives, including data updates, system enhancements, and process improvements
- Partner with engineers, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to governance standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve GIS data and application issues
- Assist with integrating GIS data into broader enterprise systems
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of professional GIS experience
- Proficiency with ESRI tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal)
- Strong understanding of:
- Spatial data models
- Coordinate systems
- SQL and database querying
Plusses:
- Experience in a utility, infrastructure, or large enterprise environment
- Familiarity with ESRI Utility Network
- Exposure to scripting/automation (Python, ArcPy, Arcade)
