General Manager

Insight Global is seeking an Operations-Focused General Manager for Arrow Waste, a PE-backed local service provider. This role is highly hands-on and responsible for running the daily operations of a branch, with a strong emphasis on people leadership, safety, and execution. The General Manager will oversee drivers, routes, equipment readiness, and staffing while partnering closely with an Ops Supervisor and shop team. This is not a traditional P&L GM role and is ideal for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, boots-on-the-ground service environments and enjoys owning daily outcomes and operational performance.

Day-to-Day:

• Run the day-to-day operations of the entire branch
• Ensure daily staffing coverage and route readiness
• Monitor routes and adjust stops based on availability
• Conduct ride-alongs and street inspections
• Lead daily safety meetings, huddles, and operational check-ins
• Partner closely with the Ops Supervisor on timelines and execution
• Work closely with the shop to ensure trucks are ready for service
• Manage trash can inventory and place orders as needed
• Oversee all lines of business at the branch
• Track payroll numbers and hit assigned labor targets (no P&L ownership)
• Monitor weekly misses and safety metrics tied to bonus structure
• Review applications, schedule interviews, and support hiring efforts
• Manage vacation requests through internal systems
• Ensure the building and branch systems remain operational

Must-Haves:

• 1–2 years of people management experience
• Operations-focused leadership background
• Experience managing hourly employees in a service-based environment
• Ability to oversee 25–35 drivers
• Experience with daily staffing, routing, and operational execution
• Strong safety mindset; experience running safety meetings or huddles
• Comfortable working early morning hours and being onsite daily

Plusses:

• Waste management, garbage, hauling, or sanitation industry experience
• Garage, fleet, or transportation operations background
• Experience in a PE-backed or metrics-driven organization
• Service industry leadership (pest control, portable sanitation, trash, etc.)
• Experience with ride-alongs, street inspections, or route optimization
