Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Fabrication Specialist II to support a high-profile aerospace program at Kennedy Space Center. This role focuses on assembling and installing precision mechanical and structural components that are critical to advanced spaceflight systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication, tubing installation, and structural assembly, along with the ability to work from detailed engineering drawings. Day-to-Day:
- Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components
- Install and assemble tubing, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems
- Perform structural drilling and assembly
- Measure and verify component tolerances
- Follow engineering drawings, specs, and requirements
- Work on complex aerospace systems and components
- Maintain adherence to safety and quality standards
Must-Haves:
- Experience with mechanical assembly (precision or electro-mechanical)
- Hands-on work with pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Experience measuring tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Knowledge of torque specs and mechanical clearances
- Comfortable with physical demands (standing, bending, confined spaces, lifting 10 lbs)
- High school diploma/GED 1 year relevant experience
- Must be able to work all shifts
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Plusses:
- Experience supporting a NASA program
- Background in cleanroom environments
- Experience with spaceflight, aerospace, or aircraft hardware manufacturing
- Familiarity with tube, valve, and fitting installation
- Structural assembly experience including match drilling (aluminum, titanium, composites)
- Experience with tubing and ducting installation
- Active Secret Clearance or higher
