Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Designer to join a manufacturing client in Longmont, CO. This role focuses on creating and updating technical drawings, designing electrical systems, and selecting components for a variety of machine‑based projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical schematics for both existing and new machines
- Make sure all designs meet industry standards and clearly communicate any exceptions
- Run design analyses, including heat‑load and SCCR calculations
- Manage project tasks such as schematics, documentation, and bills of materials
- Create and update parts, jobs, and BOMs using our internal tools
- Work closely with other designers and support assembly teams on the manufacturing floor
- Contribute to design improvements, research new components, and stay current with industry trends
- Build strong working relationships with customers, both in the office and onsite
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Travel occasionally (up to 25%)
- Take on additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of UL, NEC, and NFPA 79
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable using Windows, Word, and Excel
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical
- Solid knowledge of electrical components and how they function
- A customer‑focused mindset
Yearly Pay: $80,000-$105,000
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
