Day to Day:
Transportation Dispatcher - coordinates driver schedules, routes, and shipments to ensure on-time delivery. They act as the primary communication link between drivers and customer service, utilizing dispatch software and tracking to optimize routes and resolve issues.
- Routing and Scheduling: Planning efficient delivery/pickup routes and scheduling couriers.
- Real-time Tracking: Monitoring shipments and driver locations via GPS systems.
- Communication Hub: Maintaining communication between operations, customers, and drivers.
- Problem-Solving: Handling delays, breakdowns, and last-minute schedule changes.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
