Director of Pharmacy

Position Summary
Insight Global is seeking a Director of Pharmacy for a leading healthcare organization. This individual will oversee all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, medication safety, clinical excellence, and operational efficiency. The Director will provide strategic leadership for pharmacy services, guide staff development initiatives, manage formulary standards, and drive departmental quality improvement efforts. This role will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive stakeholders to support organizational objectives and optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate pharmacy staff.
- Ensure safe and effective medication management practices.
- Drive operational excellence and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage departmental policies, programs, and formulary standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership teams.
- Support strategic planning, budgeting, and departmental performance goals.
- Monitor medication safety, clinical quality measures, and operational efficiency.
- Promote interdisciplinary partnerships to improve patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or pharmacy leadership experience.
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
- 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- ALS/ACLS certification (required if attending Code Blue events).
- Experience leading large-scale pharmacy operations.
- Experience with formulary management and quality improvement initiatives.
- Sterile compounding certification.
Compensation
$135,000 - $216,000 annual salary.
