Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Director of Enterprise IT to lead the design, scaling, and operation of core enterprise infrastructure.
This role owns the full enterprise infrastructure stack, including cloud platforms, on‑prem systems, enterprise networking, high‑performance compute environments, engineering IT systems, and the company’s internal AI platform. You will lead a growing team, manage external partners, and collaborate closely with Security, Engineering, Industrial Security, and Digital Transformation stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable, and mission‑critical systems supporting advanced aerospace development.
This is not a traditional IT operations role. This is a hands‑on leadership position focused on rebuilding and scaling foundational systems in a high-performance engineering environment.
Key responsibilities include ownership of AWS GovCloud and Azure GovCloud environments, enterprise networking infrastructure, disaster recovery strategy, and high-performance computing platforms. The role will lead a significant network modernization initiative, define infrastructure architecture and standards, and ensure reliable, secure connectivity across offices, test sites, and future locations.
In addition, this leader will own and scale the company’s internal AI platform, enabling enterprise-wide AI adoption and integrating AI capabilities with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and O365. They will also own infrastructure supporting engineering environments including CI/CD pipelines, simulation platforms, HITL/SITL systems, and real-time data and video streaming systems used for flight test and remote operations.
The Director of Enterprise IT will serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure issues while partnering closely with the security organization (without owning security operations directly).
This role will be responsible for building a scalable operating model, managing vendors, and delivering measurable outcomes within the first year—including network modernization, cloud stabilization, AI platform productionization, and reliable, low‑latency infrastructure for real‑time operations.
This position pays 180K-220K Depending on Level of experience
