Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA)
· Microsoft Excel proficiency (formulas, pivots, large dataset reconciliation)
· Experience validating and reconciling large datasets
· Ability to compare multiple data sources and identify discrepancies
· Experience working with real time data
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· SQL for querying and validating datasets
· VBA for Excel automation

· Power BI experience

Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Analyst, Energy Data Validation to support a commercial client who will play an important role in validating various energy data streams. This role presents an opportunity to learn about the emerging distributed renewable energy industry from the ‘inside’, while working on significant and impactful projects with customers from day one. A successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized, resourceful, and a problem solver. They should be able to interpret technical energy data and be able to relay that information to a non-technical crowd. They will need to take ownership and demonstrate proficiency regarding the results of validations and offer next steps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Validate energy usage data by reconciling meter data against utility bills
· Review thousands of meters daily and analyze years of historical data
· Compare interval data, meter feeds, and billing systems to confirm totals and identify gaps
· Investigate anomalies, document root causes, and explain downstream impacts
· Serve as the final quality gate before data is used for revenue, compliance, or audits
· Revalidate existing meters on a recurring schedule
· Support audits with clean datasets, clear logic, and supporting documentation
· Track KPIs and recurring issues using Power BI dashboards
· Standardize incoming data for consistency and usability
· Collaborate with data collection and metering teams to resolve issues and improve upstream processes
