About the Role
A global leader in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a hands-on Automated Process Equipment Support Engineer to join their Automation and Process Control (A&PC) team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of advanced robotic and automated systems used in discrete manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily technical support for automated process equipment, including robotics, vision systems, barcoding, and scanning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Support capital projects through design reviews, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
- Conduct Machine Risk Assessments (MRAs) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with external vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and qualifications.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a discrete manufacturing environment with automated/robotic systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with robotics platforms (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Epson).
- Familiarity with vision system programming (LabVIEW, Cognex, Keyence preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience with SQL databases and mechanical/electrical fabrication.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
