Overview:
A large consumer fragrance and product development organization is seeking a Compounding Technician to support a fast-paced Creative Lab. This hands-on role focuses on compounding fragrance samples with high precision while following established formulas, processes, and lab safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound fragrance samples by accurately weighing and pouring raw materials within a 1 mg tolerance
- Review process orders and execute formulations provided by perfumers and lab leadership
- Gather materials, mix samples, and prepare products for evaluation
- Follow lab procedures, documentation requirements, and safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment while supporting high sample volumes
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field OR college-level chemistry coursework (including AP Chemistry)
- Basic understanding of lab safety and chemical handling
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with precise, repetitive lab tasks
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized formulations
Plusses:
- Hands-on experience or training in fragrance compounding
- Completion of a fragrance program (FIT fragrance program or similar preferred)
- Additional laboratory experience
