What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cloud Architect position at Insight Global?
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for one of their clients in the Kennesaw, GA area. This role will be 4 days onsite. In this role, the architect will spend their day designing and refining scalable, secure Azure-based cloud architectures, translating business requirements into practical reference designs, blueprints, and patterns that can be reused across the enterprise. They will lead end-to-end cloud initiatives by assessing current environments, defining target-state architectures, and driving migration and modernization efforts, including re-platforming legacy applications and integrating newly acquired companies into the existing cloud operating model. On a daily basis, they will partner closely with product owners, application teams, and infrastructure/operations groups to clarify requirements, recommend cloud-native services, and ensure solutions align with both technology roadmaps and M&A strategies. The architect will also be hands-on with DevOps and automation, building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or Bicep, integrating with GitHub workflows, and helping teams optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability. A significant portion of their time will be devoted to embedding security, compliance, and governance into every design, collaborating with InfoSec and Risk teams to apply Zero Trust principles, strengthen identity and access controls, and ensure regulatory requirements are met. They will continuously monitor and review cloud workloads for performance, availability, and cost, driving FinOps practices, rightsizing resources, and making recommendations to improve resilience through high-availability and disaster recovery strategies. In addition, the architect will regularly present solution options, trade-offs, and status updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership, while mentoring junior engineers and architects to uplift cloud skills across the organization and championing innovation in areas like AI, automation, and modern application architectures.
