What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at Insight Global?
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs residential building, commercial building, and residential mechanical inspections of new and existing properties to ensure compliance with Federal, State and City codes and regulations;
performs directly related work as required. The nature of the work performed requires that an
employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City
employees and officials, contractors, builders, business owners and the general public. Work is
performed under the direction of the Building Official.
KNOWLEDGE
Concepts, materials, and terminology related to building construction and installation in
building/mechanical inspection. Applicable Federal, State and City codes, rules and regulations,
including the International Building Code, ADA regulations, energy and computer applications,
business and engineering mathematics, standard office practices, record-keeping principles and
procedures and plan review practices and procedures for documenting inspections and correction
violations.
Salary : $25 - $30
