Insight Global is seeking a mid-level building automation control specialist to support the maintenance and operations of building mechanical and control systems—including HVAC, chilled water/steam plants, and metering—to ensure optimal indoor environmental conditions across diverse spaces such as research laboratories.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain building automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with BAS, programmable controllers, and related equipment.
- Develop and update operational procedures and sequence of operations diagrams.
- Commission and recommission building systems to meet design specifications.
- Build and install custom graphics for BAS controls; configure and program controllers.
- Collaborate with contractors and internal teams on special projects and system upgrades.
- Analyze system data to identify trends and recommend energy efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of control systems and updates.
- Respond promptly to outages or emergencies, especially during inclement weather.
Experience Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in a building automation engineering/control/technician role
- Familiarity w/ building automation systems such as Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.
Experience Preferred:
- Hospital systems exposure while being in a building automation role (or equivalent)
- HVAC Certification
- EPA License
Education Requirements:
- High school Diploma
Additional Notes:
- Willingness & ability to work 365 24/7 since it is an on-call role.
Schedule: 1st shift 7:00AM-4:00PM
Job Type: 6-month contract to potential extension or conversion
Pay: $30-$40/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Salary : $30 - $40
