Position: AI Portfolio/Project Manager
Location: HYBRID in Lincolnshire, IL 60069 (must be onsite 3x a week)
Duration: 8-month contract with high likelihood of extensions
Pay Rate: $50-70/hour (depending on years of experience)
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of project or program management experience
- 3 years of AI, ML, or data driven project/program management experience
- Proven experience managing 4-6 concurrent projects
- Strong understanding of modern AI/ML concepts
- Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, and DevOps practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience in retail, automotive, or dealership technology environments.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, Vertex AI, or similar enterprise data and AI platforms.
- Background in product ownership or product management alongside project management.
- Experience managing vendor SOWs, offshore development teams, and contractor engagements.
- Understanding of enterprise security frameworks, SOX compliance, and AI governance standards.
Job Description:
The AI Project/Portfolio Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects from enterprise agents and AI-coded applications to consumer-facing intelligent experiences. The AI Project/Portfolio Manager ensures every project is tracked, resourced, and delivered on time by managing milestones, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining deep product knowledge across the full suite of AI solutions under development.
- Own the end‑to‑end AI portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology strategy across internal AI agents and customer-facing AI products.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for AI project execution, including status, risks, dependencies, timelines, and prioritization across initiatives.
- Lead AI program delivery by defining project plans, milestones, resources, and acceptance criteria; running agile cadences; and resolving blockers and cross‑team dependencies.
- Maintain governance and visibility through accurate documentation, application inventories, KPI tracking, and executive‑level reporting on progress, risks, and business impact.
- Act as the primary liaison between AI engineering, infrastructure, data, security, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure coordinated delivery and SOW alignment.
- Apply technical fluency across AI platforms and tooling to facilitate technical discussions, identify risks, and translate complex concepts for executive audiences.
- Establish and enforce AI program standards, tooling, security reviews, compliance checks, and responsible AI practices across all projects.
IG Consultants: While on contract, you will be an Insight Global employee working for a particular company/end client on W2.
- Pay Day: You will be paid out each Friday and one week in arrears. This means you will receive payment for this week’s hours next Friday.
- Holidays/Time Off: While a consultant through Insight Global, the hours you work are the hours you will be paid. We do not offer paid sick days, paid time off, or paid holidays, except as required by applicable law.
