What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Manager position at Insight Global?
Role Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Manager will lead a centralized, corporate A/R function supporting Insight Global’s high‑volume, multi‑entity revenue operations. This role is critical to ensuring A/R subledger integrity, clean A/R‑to‑G/L reconciliation, disciplined management of open debits and credits, and confidence in reported revenue.
This position requires a leader who combines strong accounting fundamentals, elite Excel capability, and a mindset for automation and continuous improvement, while living out Insight Global’s values through transparency, ownership, and service‑oriented leadership.
Core Responsibilities:
A/R Reconciliation & Subledger Integrity
- Own A/R subledger to General Ledger reconciliation for Insight Global entities, ensuring balances are complete, accurate, and supported at all times.
- Maintain a clean A/R subledger, driving timely resolution of unapplied, unidentified, and misapplied cash.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting to ensure A/R activity aligns with revenue recognition policies and financial reporting standards.
Open Debits & Credits Governance
- Establish and enforce controls over open debits (short pays, underpayments) and open credits (overpayments, credit memos).
- Ensure credits are applied, refunded, or otherwise resolved promptly to prevent aging distortion and downstream customer issues.
- Review and approve credit memos, write‑offs, refunds, and A/R adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and accounting treatment.
- Develop reporting and analytics to identify root causes of recurring debit and credit activity.
Corporate Cash Application & Exception Management
- Oversee corporate cash application processes leveraging Insight Global’s revenue systems (e.g., Great Plains and HighRadius), with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex payment application and customer remittance issues.
Reporting, Analytics & KPI Ownership
- Build scalable Excel‑based models and dashboards to support reconciliation, trend analysis, and executive reporting.
- Provide clear, transparent insights to Finance and Revenue leadership.
Process Improvement, Automation & AI Enablement
- Identify opportunities to automate manual A/R processes, including reconciliations, cash matching, and exception handling.
- Standardize A/R workflows, SOPs, and internal controls to support growth, scalability, and audit requirements.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead a corporate A/R team with a strong emphasis on accountability, clarity, and service.
- Set clear expectations and performance standards while fostering a culture of care, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a corporate subject‑matter expert for Accounts Receivable processes, reconciliation standards, and subledger health.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience in a corporate or shared services environment.
- Demonstrated ownership of A/R‑to‑G/L reconciliation, subledger cleanup, and month‑end close support.
- Strong understanding of revenue accounting concepts and financial statement impact.
- Advanced Excel expertise (Power Query, pivots, complex formulas, reconciliation automation).
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Insight Global–relevant ERP and revenue platforms (e.g., Great Plains, HighRadius).
- Exposure to automation, RPA, or AI‑driven tools.
- Background in finance transformation, system implementations, or AR optimization initiatives.
- Experience supporting both internal and external audits.
What Success Looks Like at Insight Global
- Consistent, timely A/R‑to‑G/L reconciliation with minimal manual intervention.
- Sustained reduction in unapplied cash and aged open credits/debits.
- Increased automation and improved data reliability.
- Strong trust and partnership with Corporate Accounting, Revenue, and Treasury.
- A team that feels supported, clear on expectations, and proud of the impact they make.
