Job Summary

Provide professional services in support of unit management in field as specified in the particular job posting. Focus will be in a professional field such as Communications, Marketing, Customer Service, Academic Administration, Event Management, Procurement, etc. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. Job Summary The Temporary Business Operations Support ¿ Facilities Recruitment Assistant will provide critical administrative and coordination support for the recruitment and hiring of skilled trades positions within Housing & Residence Life (HRL). This role will assist with managing the logistical and operational steps of the hiring process for ¿hard¿to¿fill¿ facilities roles¿including building mechanical technicians, electricians, plumbers, and custodians¿by ensuring clear communication, timely coordination, and smooth candidate experiences.

The assistant will work closely with HRL leadership, Facilities Management, and HR partners to support interview scheduling, onboarding tasks, compliance processes, and tracking key recruitment metrics. This position plays a key role in maintaining organized workflows, monitoring hiring progress, and helping streamline processes that support efficient and effective trades recruitment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end¿to¿end interview processes, including scheduling, candidate communication, and preparation materials.
  • Provide administrative support for hiring logistics such as background checks, onboarding coordination, and documentation.
  • Determine optimal job posting locations and marketing strategies by collaborating with TA and HR to maximize visibility for skilled trades roles.
  • Work with TA and Employer Branding to explore hiring events, outreach opportunities, and targeted recruitment channels.
  • Attend local career fairs on behalf of HRL facilities to recruit for skilled trade roles.
  • Serve as a liaison connecting internal stakeholders involved in HRL facilities hiring to ensure alignment, transparency, and timely communication.
  • Communicate regular updates on progress, challenges, and hiring strategy to Associate and Assistant Directors and other key leaders.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities to streamline recruitment processes for hard¿to¿fill skilled trades positions.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications

Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. This job will require some evening hours and hours during peak times, as well as being a part of an on-duty rotation.
