Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing facilitation of and course administration for multiple sections of Professional Development courses, under the guidance of the Instructor(s) of Record. This includes but is not limited to classroom instruction, leading workshop-style and seminar sessions for both in-person and online undergraduate students, assigning and assessing student work, and administering Canvas course pages for each course section. Collaborates with the Instructor(s) of Record; offers suggestions for the ongoing refinement of educational materials for Professional Development courses (lesson plans, assignments, lectures, etc.).
- Provide professional development services to in-person and online students, including but not limited to one-on-one coaching & career management sessions, resume and job document review, career planning assistance and mock interviews and internship guidance and evaluation. Meets regularly and assist students with developing professional documents including resumes, cover letters, and networking emails, as well as school admissions essays, professional branding, and professional portfolios. Coach students on interviewing skills, networking opportunities, evaluation of job offers, and salary negotiation and career launch plans. Design, develop, lead, and conduct workshops, classroom presentations, and information sessions to help students identify and articulate their career readiness. Maintain accurate advising, workshop, and event records in the Business Career Services' management platform.
- Remains up to date on trends and best evidence knowledge on career coaching, resume critique, job searching, networking, and career opportunities across all undergraduate programs within the Herbert Wertheim College of Business. Maintains an understanding of the academic offerings and opportunities at the Wertheim College, while recognizing the differences, trends, and nuances of various industries to support students in pursuing aligned academic paths. Remains up to date on employment trends and career opportunities in relevant industries, including labor market trends, competencies, and career readiness.
- Provides career coaching for master's students during high-volume periods. Support course facilitation and administration for other Business Career Services professional programs during high-volume periods. This includes, but is not limited to, Internships, Engage 100, and the Business Living-Learning Community (LLC). Assists with Business Career Services professional program initiatives, recruiting and professional development events, career fairs, and workshops. Collaborates with the Dean's leadership team and supports the Herbert Wertheim College of Business in student engagement activities and strategic initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the success of the college's student engagement and professional development programs.
