Job Summary
The Regional Admission Counselor for Florida serves as the primary representative of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in this key out-of-state market. Based in Florida, this position is responsible for recruiting and enrolling students by promoting ABACs academic programs, campus life, and value to prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community partners throughout Central and South Florida.
The counselor manages the entire admissions process for students from this territory, develops and maintains relationships with high schools and community colleges, and represents ABAC at college fairs, community events, and outreach programs. The position requires extensive travel within the assigned region and occasional visits to the ABAC Tifton campus.
Major Duties
Recruitment and Outreach
The Regional Admission Counselor reports to the Assistant Director of Enrollment Management and works under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions and the Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications. Performance is reviewed through meetings, reports, enrollment benchmarks, and observation of territory management.
Guidelines
Guidelines include ABAC and USG policies and procedures, FERPA and Title IX regulations, and applicable federal and state guidelines.
Complexity/Scope of Work
This position requires self-direction, initiative, and strong communication skills to manage a recruitment territory outside Georgia. The counselor must exercise sound judgment, adaptability, and professionalism while building relationships and representing ABAC¿s mission and values in varied settings.

Recruitment and Outreach
- Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan for Central and South Florida aligned with ABACs enrollment goals.
- Represent ABAC at high school visits, college fairs, community events, and transfer fairs across the region.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with high school counselors, teachers, administrators, and community partners.
- Serve as the primary contact for prospective students and families in the assigned territory, guiding them through the inquiry, application, and enrollment process.
- Conduct individual and group presentations promoting ABACs academic programs and student experience.
- Coordinate occasional campus visits for students and groups traveling from Florida to ABAC.
- Meet or exceed individual recruitment and enrollment targets.
- Communicate effectively with prospective students via phone, email, text, and virtual platforms to assist through each stage of the enrollment process.
- Support prospective students with application completion, transcript submission, and other admissions requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions and activities using the colleges CRM system.
- Collaborate with on-campus admissions, financial aid, and housing staff to ensure a seamless enrollment experience.
- Provide feedback and insight to the Director and Assistant Director of Enrollment Management regarding trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Florida market.
- Support the implementation of data-informed recruitment strategies and contribute to annual territory analysis and planning.
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings, training sessions, and team events at the Tifton campus.
- Represent ABAC professionally and positively at all times, contributing to the colleges reputation and visibility throughout the region.
- Perform related duties as assigned to support ABACs enrollment and outreach goals.
- Knowledge of admissions and enrollment management principles and practices.
- Skill in public speaking, interpersonal relations, and customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute events independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Understanding of marketing and recruitment strategies from an educational perspective.
- Ability to work both independently in a remote setting and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and virtual communication tools.

Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Work is performed remotely from Florida with extensive regional travel.
- Occasional travel to ABACs Tifton campus is required for training and events.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods.
- Evening and weekend work will be required during peak recruitment seasons.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Central and South Florida.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in college admissions, recruitment, or related student services role.
- Familiarity with Florida high schools and community colleges.
- Experience with CRM systems such as Slate, Element451, or similar platforms.
