Essential Job Functions
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
- Patrol university property by vehicle, bicycle, and on foot
- Enforce state laws, city ordinances, and university policies and regulations
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, accidents, and reports of suspicious activity
- Investigate incidents and prepare clear, accurate written reports
- Provide assistance to students, staff, faculty, and visitors as needed
- Monitor campus facilities for security concerns and safety hazards
- Testify in court proceedings when required
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies as necessary
- Perform other related law enforcement duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must hold a valid Texas Peace Officer License issued by TCOLE
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to respond physically to emergencies and perform law enforcement duties in various environments
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
