What You’ll Do
This position performs skilled work in the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings, furnishings, and equipment, including carpentry and masonry, as well as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and electronics systems, to ensure efficient campus operation.
Day-to-day, You’ll Be Responsible For
- Addressing work orders for electrical, plumbing, and lighting issues.
- Performing preventive maintenance on AHUs, FCUs, chilled and hot water pumps, and other systems; and maintaining emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, eyewash stations, and stand-by generators.
- Inspecting fire alarm panels, backflow preventers, and emergency systems, changing ceiling tiles, evaluating and repairing leaks, and managing basic utility systems.
- Working with contractors on building remodels, new construction projects, and facility improvements, while utilizing an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) for managing work orders, time, charges, asset management, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Traveling to off-campus sites and reporting to work during major storm events as essential personnel are also required.
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalency diploma.
- Four (4) years of experience in at least three of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, electronics, carpentry/masonry, AutoCAD or equivalent Computer Aided Drafting / Drawing Program; or a combination of education and/or experience.
